I'm jonesing for a new twisty gasp-out-loud thriller - if it's a bit scary, that's even better #MSWL

I've spent the better part of my week building a case to prove to @BookEndsJessica @BookEndsKim & @AgentJessicaA why @carrieunderwood songs are the perfect #MSWL for Mystery, Suspense & Thriller agents. On behalf of all of us our #MSWL is any book based on a @carrieunderwood song because @jamerrson has proven every one would make a great Mystery, Suspense or Thriller. #JamesSpeaksTruth

Ooh, #mswl day! Right now I’m craving great SF/horror mashups, general dark horror, PI mysteries, gothic suspense, and dark thrillers - YA & adult! Diverse voices always a plus!

Please send me sci-fi/fantasy/mystery/thrillers, ya or adult, especially those that are character driven or investigate genre tropes
I’m also a sucker for anything with a strong environment, either literally or figuratively

This dreary NYC fall weather also has me in the mood for something spooky. Either ghostly, creepy MG or thriller YA. #MSWL

YA thrillers that feel surprising and new. I'm a murderino at heart and am currently loving Sadie by Courtney Summers. Also would really love to see thrillers written by POC writers and other writers from marginalized backgrounds. I know they're out there! #MSWL

I tweet out #MSWL thoughts pretty regularly so you can always search those. That said, my list is pretty full of contemporary YA right now. I'd love a great YA thriller or horror novel to add to my list!

My biggest #mswl of late is a fresh take on a YA thriller. Give me a new format, big stakes, characters who take agency over their circumstances and flip all expectations (think SADIE or GENUINE FRAUD)

Smart, savvy, adult thrillers with a literary voice and crossover appeal. Some speculative aspect is fine. Think Tana French or Lauren Beukes. No cops. No sexual violence. Women, PoC, other marginalized folk would be ideal. #MSWL

I love the idea of #MSWL day but I'm rarely looking for a very specific concept or type of book. I just want the book to be yours and yours alone. To be so specific you can see the whole world in its details. That said, here are a few things that are very top of mind for me:Contemporary horror/thriller focused on the experiences of POCs. We live harrowing lives and ones that see the world from a different angle. Film/tv has done a great job of catching up to representing those experiences. I want more of it in books. #MSWL

I love a good psychological thriller (Gillian Flynn, Ruth Ware, etc.)--would love to find a teen one that plays with unreliable narrators, unexpected plot twists, etc. #MSWL

I'm always open to thriller, espec. psychological and domestic, though political is sometimes a tough sell for me. I like espionage if it's new and fresh, and with a female lead or co-lead. #MSWLThink more Killing Eve/Alias, less Bourne Identity, for me in terms of globe-trotting thriller. #MSWL

#MSWL And of course, psychological thrillers, suspense, anything with twists and turns that keep me guessing, like THE WOMAN IN THE WINDOW, GRIST MILL ROAD, LUCKIEST GIRL ALIVE, and BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. 📚 manuscriptwishlist.com/mswl-post/rach…

Dark suspense is my literary happy place. I'd love to find an Adult Thriller series in the vein of the @JefferyDeaver Lincoln Rhyme series or the Thomas Harris Hannibal series. # TickTock #MSWL

Updated #MSWL on m'blog (bit.ly/2p3a5iO), but eager for a few things (beyond anything delightful):
*YA: literary sci-fi; anything science fantasy-esque
*thriller/crime: female-driven literary; intellectual puzzles/characters
*characters w/ intellectual, emotional gifts
