Memoir

Marisa DiNovis @dinovisms · Jan 9

Let's kick off 2019 with #mswl! I'd love to see:
- LGBTQ+ middle grade and YA, any genre, any time period!
- Contemporary YA with a spec twist (think Still Life with Tornado or Dig)
- Literally ANYTHING that evokes Tillie Walden's On a Sunbeam
- Graphic novels or memoirs

Lisa Yoskowitz @LisaYoskowitz · Jan 7

(agent #mswl continued)
-memoirs or close narrative nonfiction showcasing underrepresented experiences and unique perspectives
-middle grade contemporary with a Judy Blume vibe (fin, for now!)

Lisa Yoskowitz @LisaYoskowitz · Jan 7

(Agent novel and nonfic #mswl continued)
-Stories that show what it is to be part of multiple communities, (bonus pts for dating misadventures)
-a coming of age memoir that reads like Sarah Dessen, Jenny Han, or Nina LaCour (2/3)

Lisa Yoskowitz @LisaYoskowitz · Jan 7

Agent friends, my #mswl is overflowing! Please think of me in 2019 for exciting new:
-memoirs that bring to mind a YA Educated—delving deep into an author’s journey through and/or out of an insular community
-illustrated or graphic novel middle grade nonfiction or memoir (1/3)

It's the holiday season, so I'll put a #MSWL out into the world: I'd love to have a new #DearGenius out in the market BUT written by one of our great editors of color. A memoir, a how-to, a narrative guide to succeeding in this business from a POV beyond the white center. (1/2)

Had the chance to send some feedback on a #memoir earlier today, and it prompted some thoughts on memoir-writing: bit.ly/2SbMCYW. I'd love to find a beautiful one, so do send #queries, please. #MSWL

Putting it out into the twitter universe that I am looking for more clients creating beautifully illustrated books! Graphic novels, graphic memoirs, graphic nonfiction—anything and everything you're working on, for any age group. #MSWL

Illustrated memoir or graphic novel where the main character has synesthesia or somehow experiences the world in a non-traditional way #mswl

Emmanuelle Morgue-en @EmMorgen · 12 Sep 2018

And my usual SF/fantasy for any age, diverse voices, YA & MG. Contemp graphic novel/memoir. #MSWL

Danielle Chiotti @daniellechiotti · 12 Sep 2018

Now for some nonfiction #mswl: cookbooks, food narrative/memoir, parenting, social issues, micro histories that bring an underrated event/person/movement to light.

Cassandra Farrin @CassaCassaCassa · 12 Sep 2018

In nonfiction, Amberjack is seeking books that expand our current list—gender and sexuality, body positivity, memoir that taps into broader human experience #MSWL

Jessica Felleman @jmfelleman · 12 Sep 2018

Memoir or novel of a woman surviving in the wilds of Alaska (or some other desolate unpopulated place) – bonus points if she “finds herself” along the way and doesn’t have to fight a bear. #nobears #mswl

Natalie Hallak @NatalieHallak · 12 Sep 2018

#MSWL (cont) genre benders, edgy coming of age tales for the millennial audience, untold stories, projects exploring an immigrant's experience in America.... Basically any novel or memoir/NNF project that challenges and expands a limited worldview--I want to see it.

Natalie Hallak @NatalieHallak · 12 Sep 2018

#MSWL I'm on the hunt for wildly entertaining literary fiction, narrative nonfiction, and memoir, esp from underrepresented perspectives. Dying to see non-Eurocentric HF, refreshing romcoms a la #CrazyRichAsians, propulsive toxic female friendship stories--omg the list goes on--
