Magical realism in MG is another one. This was the time when most of us in TX wanted to grow up, but it was also when I think we also still had a sense of wonder. So MG magical realism feels perfect here. #MSWL

#MSWL -- I'm still on the hunt for middle grade, and would particularly love a fun middle grade series with action, adventure, and perhaps some magic or a dash (or heaping cupful) of the paranormal!Continuing to put this out in the universe: my hope is to find a big MG series in the next few months: MG fantasy, adventure, paranormal, scifi, etc...something exciting & brimful of imagination and heart, with characters who are at once brave and vulnerable. #MSWL

And finally my evergreen #MSWL right now: mermaids. Evil mermaids. Magical realism mermaids. 13th Year Mermaids.
And Ren Faire contemporary.
And Spice Girls friendship break-up MG or YA.

I keep thinking I'll stop my #MSWL tweets, but then ideas pop into my brain and I wonder... today, I'd die for a twisty thriller with a truly surprising turn set in India, possibly involving Hindu mythology and magic or some kind of strange tech that borders on magic.Still waiting... #WritingCommuntiy #mswl #thriller

You know what I’m missing right now? A high fantasy (either YA or Adult) with a brilliant new world to get lost in and a fully developed, ingenious magic system. Anyone have one for me? #MSWL

#MSWL: I'd love a YA in the vein of #SeeYouYesterday. Set in the hot center of a contemporary American city. Give me the sounds, sights, flavors of the place, all in the middle of the summer. Make the stakes as high as THUG. Make it shine with magic/fantasy. Blend the genres.

13. Magical Realism meets THE THIRTEENTH YEAR. My love of mermaids is not a well kept secret. I would love to see something that taps into it. Something that speaks to this image, and is atmospheric and romantic. #MSWL
