I'd like to see characters living alternate lifestyles in the way of homesteads, tiny homes, vanlife, foreign exchange, extended backpacking trip, etc., preferably from authors or illustrators who have done so #MSWL

And now I’ll start listing off some specifics! At the top of my #MSWL: PB author/illustrators w/ a very distinctive signature look.

Some of my faves: Juana Martinez-Neal, Vashti Harrison, the Fan Brothers, Emily Winfield Martin, David Litchfield, Anne Lambelet, Sophie Blackall.

My #mswl hasn't changed - still wanting books about clowns & queerness related to trickster figures, still wanting all types of found families, still wanting MG horror & spoop, I would LOVE more picture book illustrators, & a comedic YA protag coping w ED (incidental, not plot).

I’m wishing for creepy #MG, serious literary #YA, and graphic novels especially by marginalized author/illustrators! #MSWL

For picture books, I gravitate toward quirky, funny, offbeat, and clever stories that center on a memorable character(s) or weave in deeper themes about friendship, mental health, etc. I'd love to find author-illustrators who can capture that sensibility in both text & art. #MSWL
