Is sophisticated language okay in middle grade novels? #AskUpstart
Replying to @StephanieSalkin

So hard to say without knowing specifics! but I don't think there's any problem with it, depending on what it is and what your story is about. #AskUpstart

What do you think of "quiet" novels? How do you define "quiet?" #AskUpstart
Replying to @StephanieSalkin

"Quiet" isn't really defined in one way, that's in the reader's response. I do want to feel deeply connected, and pulled into a story. For me, something too quiet would fail to do that. #askUpstart
