Reminder that not all work by POC must be weighty, dramatic books. White authors got to write thousands of fluffy books and cash the checks. We shouldn't be appreciated only when it gets dark and horrible.

I so badly want these “fluffy” YA books by POC and LGBTQ+ writers. As much as I love angst and think “issue books” are super important, I also love ridiculously fun stories that make readers feel good about life (including their identities). #MSWL

Random things I would love to see more of in submissions: witchcraft; boy bands; crows/ravens; unusual structure/format; nature; female friendship; LGBTQ+ characters; WOC characters; Wes Anderson-inspired stories. #MSWL

Still looking for a bunch of YA things: a story about female best friends; a macabre fairy tale retelling; a great mystery; a cute gay or lesbian love story. #MSWL

I want a contemporary YA that features a m/m or f/f romance, but it still needs a fresh hook beyond the relationship. #MSWL

I basically want to find my own version of Klaine (because I have absolutely no control over what I fangirl). #MSWL

A #YA with a male protagonist who reminds me of Blaine Anderson: gay and angsty. #MSWL #YA #CON #LGBT

Contemporary #YA about a f/f or m/m couple navigating first love. #MSWL #CON #LGBT
